Cemetery Restoration Projects

From 2018-2022, the Nashville Historical Foundation (formerly the MHC Foundation) partnered with several historic cemeteries in Davidson Country to complete preservation and restoration projects. These private family cemeteries, which date back to the early 1800s, include Gower, White-Ogden, Sylvan Hall-Phillips, Thompson-Collinsworth, Morris-Shane, General Thomas Overton and Compton-Sirls.

The foundation also received a grant from the TN Wars Commission to cover the cost of developing, fabricating, and installing two interpretive signs at Buchanan Station Cemetery.
